Getting Sticky With It: Writing Workshops Inspired by Edwin Morgan’s Scrapbooks
Led by Colin Herd
Special Collections, University of Glasgow Library (12th Floor)
In the early to mid Twentieth Century, the poet Edwin Morgan made a number of visually arresting, playful, dynamic scrapbooks. A queer visual diary, a catalogue of images, and a surreal bricolage of high and low art,  the scrapbooks were a resource and a testing ground as Morgan developed his distinctively experimental and anti-orthodox poetics. These workshops will explore techniques for  responding to the form and content of the scrapbooks in a contemporary context. Part of a collaborative project between Edwin Morgan Centenary, University of Glasgow and Speculative Books.
