Edwin Morgan Trust is thrilled to partner with GoMA during the Edwin Morgan Centenary 2020-2021.
To celebrate the Edwin Morgan Centenary, GoMA will be providing insight into their current Domestic Bliss Exhibition, which features a portrait of Edwin Morgan in his West End home by artist and poet Alasdair Gray.
Alongside Domestic Bliss programmes, GoMA will also be presenting a symposium addressing the ethics of ‘queering’ archives. This includes works that were generated in times when queerness embedded in works required coding, or subtlety in delivery and reception in order to avoid persecution or arrest.
The symposium intersects with both the Edwin Morgan Centenary and the 40th anniversary of the de-criminalisation of homosexuality in Scotland.
It is intended that a new print for the successful Queer Times School Prints program will be commissioned to mark both #edwinmorgan100 and the 40th anniversary of the de-criminalisation of homosexuality in Scotland, with the symposium setting the stage for this new commission.
