As one of the three national repositories in Scotland of Edwin Morgan material, chosen by Morgan himself, The Mitchell Library as part of Glasgow Life is a crucial element to the #edwinmorgan100 programme.
For four months in 2020, the main Mitchel Library exhibition space on the ground floor will be given over to an Edwin Morgan Collection display. This will be further supported at points throughout the year with public programming and extra elements.
From April 2020-April 2021 there will be a minimum of three Edwin Morgan Collection events as part of the Mitchell Curious and Let’s Talk programme.
The special collections team will also be creating a coding event workshop using Morgan Collection material that speaks to Morgan’s own interest in the workings of language and emerging technologies.
In addition, the Mitchel Library will be opening up their Edwin Morgan Collection to academics, artists and writers in conjunction with new work commissions and exhibitions at a range of venues.
