This poem is an amalgamation of multiple voices. It draws extensively on Edwin Morgan’s correspondence, published in The Midnight Letterbox: Selected Correspondence (1950-2010), edited by James McGonigal and John Coyle (Manchester: Carcanet, 2015), and held at the University of Glasgow Library and the Mitchell Library, Glasgow. It also quotes from Finnegans Wake by James Joyce, ‘Apology for my TV’ by Marghanita Laski, ‘Telling Me Lies’ by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt & Emmylou Harris, and Our Lady of the Flowers by Jean Genet.
It also includes lines and verses by, in alphabetical order: Fred Carter, Sophie Collins, Caitlín Doherty, Dom Hale, Will Harris, Daisy Lafarge, Grace Linden and So Mayer.
